Made to complement food,
and bring joy to the everyday table.

赤絵、織部を中心に、美濃のうつわを制作しています。手描きの色とやわらかなかたちは、同じ意匠でも一つずつ表情が異なります。

Working primarily in Aka-e and Oribe, Hiroshi Hanzawa creates tableware rooted in the Mino tradition. Hand-painted colors and softly formed shapes give every piece its own expression, even when the motif is shared.

志野赤絵、織部、瑠璃、粉引き。美濃の素材と技法を背景に、器へ伸びやかな草花や生き物を描きます。色合い、柄、かたち、釉薬の景色に生まれる違いも、手仕事ならではの個性です。

Shino Aka-e, Oribe, Ruri and Kohiki. Drawing on the materials and techniques of Mino pottery, Hanzawa paints lively flowers, plants and animals across each vessel. Variations in color, pattern, form and glaze are part of the character of work made by hand.

    Entered Seto Ceramic Vocational Training School

  2. 赤津の製陶所 入社

    Joined a pottery studio in Akazu, Seto

  3. 陶芸家・黒岩卓実氏に師事

    Studied under ceramic artist Takumi Kuroiwa

  4. 岐阜県多治見市にて独立、現在に至る

    Established an independent studio in Tajimi, Gifu, where he continues to work today
